I'm dreamin of a white Christmas...

Other than the fact that I constantly listen to Christmas music...it just doesn't feel like Christmas this year :/

Maybe it's because I work retail and retail SUCKS during the holidays
Maybe it's because we haven't put up our lights yet (I know, the HORROR!)
Maybe it's because we just barely put our tree up but still haven't decorated it yet
Maybe it's because I'm broke and I want to be able to buy wonderful gifts for everyone but I can't :/

Whatever the reason...Christmas just isn't the same this year :(

I will continue to listen to Christmas music though in the hope that maybe just maybe it will feel like Christmas again.

But then when I watch this video... I am reminded of what Christmas is really about :)

And by the way, I am NOT dreaming of a white Christmas...I hate being cold  :P

la-di-da

Wow I am doing pretty good at updating this thing...for me anyway.

Well let's see. Not a whole lot to say tonight.

Oh yeah. BLACK FRIDAY.
Wow. I have no idea how I made it through that disaster of a day!
Ok ok it wasn't a total disaster..it was just so tiring and nerve racking!
I couldn't even enjoy Thanksgiving the day before because I kept thinking about how I had to work 14-17 hours the next day!
My shift for Bath and Body Works started at 7 am, but I was "on-call" at 4 am. That meant that I had to call at 3 to see if they needed me. And since I don't live THAT close to the mall and I knew I would have to deal with traffic, I got ready at 2 just in case they did need me at 4, so I could leave immediately at 3 am when I called. I don't know if that made sense in the way that I described it butttt that's how it went so deal. :P
Anyway, I called at 245 am and low and behold THEY DIDN'T NEED ME! So I went back to bed (even though I never went to bed in the first place) and got about an hour of sleep. It was divine.
Finally, I left to the mall and started my shift at Bath and Body Works (for the sake of my laziness, I will now refer to Bath and Body Works as BBW).
Basically they had me doing the dirty work. Slave work. Whatever you want to call it.
I was the "bagger" which meant I had to open the bags and stuff cardboard "bottomboards" in the bottom of the bags to keep them upright. I then had to make sure each of the registers were stocked with an OPEN large, medium and small bag at all times so the people ringing the customers up didn't have to open a bag to put the items into. It DID make the process go faster. There were 5 registers and a line of customers wrapped around the store, so I was always fighting to keep them stocked. Sounds stupid but it was hard and tiring. I also did various errands around the store, picking out products that the oh-so-wonderful customers  had so conveniently forgotten until they got to the register. Weaving my way around people was such a wonderful experience. Thank goodness I am small enough that I was able to get through the smallest of spaces and cracks without bothering too many people. Sometimes I really am thankful for being 5'2. I basically was running around nonstop.
My shift there ended at 1230 and after that I had to run (literally) over to Macy's (my other job) to be there by 12:45. This was my VERY FIRST DAY at Macy's so needless to say, I was nervous. It was SO ridiculously hard at first because I had been trained a month and a half before and I had forgotten almost everything I had learned about the registers. It definitely did not help that there was literally no break between customers. It was so ridiculously crowded in there! My sister and her husband came by to purchase some stuff and they saw me on the verge of tears. Not because I was sad but I was just so tired and overwhelmed. It was not fun. After a while, (and after many rude rude RUDE customers) I got the hang of it and started getting more comfortable with what I was doing. See? Prayers really ARE answered! haha. I am actually serious about that- I did a lot of praying!
I was pretty much exhausted beyond belief when I looked up to see my fabulous boyfriend standing in front of my register with a sack of snacks. I wanted to cry! It was so sweet and I was so grateful for his visit. I managed to take a 15 minute break and ate my snacks (and 5 hour energy drink! :D ) outside with Kent. It was exactly what I needed to get through the rest of my 8 hour shift. He's awesome! :)
The minute the clock turned 9, I was outta there! 14 hours working at the mall=13 minutes and 45 minutes too long!

SO anyway that was my Black Friday experience. Mark my words...I will not work retail during Black Friday again...especially not TWO jobs! Yikes!

As for other news...I am extremely ready for this semester to be over. I need a break. I have so many papers due in the next week it isn't funny. But when are papers ever funny?

Welp I don't have any pictures to share.

I think I'll post about my sister's wedding in my next post and there will be pictures then! So stay tuned!
